What characterizes the multidisciplinary field of communication for development today? And how do the Master's programme in Communication for Development (ComDev) at Malmö University, the Glocal Times web magazine and Malmö University and Roskilde University’s joint bi-national research centre Ørecomm position themselves vis-à-vis this field of research and practice?

Thomas Tufte

Thomas Tufte is Professor of Communication at Roskilde University, Denmark, since 2004. He is co-founder and co–Director of the Ørecomm Center of Communication and Glocal Change. He has conducted research on issues of citizen media and citizen engagement, edutainment, health communication, media and globalization, mainly in Africa and Latin America. E-mail: ttufte@ruc.dk
