How can development communicators position their work in response to new and emerging discourses, and how can they ensure that marginalised voices are heard and impact on decision-making at different levels? What are some of the strengths and weaknesses of communication practice today? How can communication be better evaluated?

Peter da Costa, PhD, is a specialist in Policy Uptake of Research; Communication for Development; Organizational Capacity Development; and Monitoring and Evaluation. He works as a consultant to multilateral and bilateral development agencies and philanthropic foundations, including as a technical adviser to the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and a senior policy adviser to the Africa Progress Panel.
