Varför gör jag på detta vis? En reflektion över resan i utvecklandet av högskolepedagogisk kompetens

Abstract

The Nurse education at the department of Nursing Science leads to becoming a registered nurse. The prerequisites to deal with as a teacher in the education can, on one hand, include increased demands on student completion, meeting EU directives for clinical practice education with may reduce time for theory as a result, challenges to meet students' learning styles and insufficient financial resources. On the other hand, there are students with individual needs and resources with a dream and drive to get an education, teachers with competence and a desire to be good educators. How do I handle this? How can I, in my role as a lecturer in nursing education, use my mandate with the conditions that I have access to in the best way? The large number of students in the auditorium for a lecture becomes a prerequisite for managing the number of students, but how do I take on the challenge of providing quality education at the same time?

This text reflects on how one's own pedagogical role in education and different educational cultures have and can develop over time and relate to Mau's strategies as well as concrete examples of improvement work.
